Fire safety during extreme summer period

Hello,

The recent hot weather has lead to an unprecedented period without significant rainfall.

If any of you have been out in the rural part of the ward, you will have noticed how the ground is parched, and how tinder dry the vegetation is.

With this in mind please be extra vigilant when disposing of cigarettes, and litter as both of these can be the source of ignition.

Working with Kent Fire and Rescue they have some advice for people working around farms, but overlaps with people living in the countryside.
